Neurology
At UME Diagnostics we are able to provide advanced diagnostic imaging to support the fast accurate diagnosis of neurological conditions. Reports are completed by our renowned neuro radiologists within 24 hours.
CT: Provides high definition resolution studies of focal and diffuse brain disease, particularly studies for stroke and infarction evaluations, and critical in post trauma and post operative assessments.
- Focal brain disease.
- Diffuse brain disease.
- Perfusion Studies for stroke/infarction evaluation.
- Angiography for evaluation of intracranial aneurysm, AVM, fibro-muscular dysplasia, occlusive disease.
- Postoperative evaluation.
- Trauma.
- 3D reconstruction.
- Characterization of spinal anatomy.
- Assessment following trauma.
- Assessment following operative intervention.
- Myelography.
MRI: Invaluable for identifying abnormalities of the brain or spine – fine detail vascular imaging for head trauma, tumours and cerebrovascular disease. MR Angiogram studies may often supplant the need for invasive interventional catheter studies:
- Spectroscopy for tumour evaluation in area of interest.
- Single voxel studies.
- Multi voxel studies/MS evaluation.
- Diffusion study/MS evaluation.
- Parkinson’s Disease.
- Seizures.
- Dementia.
- Focal brain disease.
- Diffuse brain disease.
- Acute stroke evaluation.
- Angiography for evaluation of intracranial aneurysm, AVM, fibro-muscular dysplasia.
- Occlusive disease.
- Postoperative Evaluation.
- Trauma.
- Characterization of spinal anatomy.
- Assessment of following trauma.
- Assessment following operative intervention.
- Myelography.
- Preoperative planning for corrective surgery.
- Spinal cord evaluation.
Nuclear Medicine: Fusion studies and early diagnosis of particularly disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease.
Neurography
Our advanced imaging equipment also allows us to offer a full MR Neurography service. Complex anatomical areas such as the Brachial Plexus and the Lumbosacral Plexus can now be interrogated. Furthermore, sites of limb trauma can be evaluated for evidence of nerve damage.
MR Neurography offers a new and more advanced method of investigating many disorders such as:
- Brachial Plexopathy.
- Radiation Neuritis.
- Scalene Syndrome.
- Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
- Cervical Traction injuries.
- Post trauma pain syndromes.
- Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.
- Piriformis Syndrome.
- Unexplained Sciatica.
- Pelvic Pain Syndromes.
