Dr Ravi Assomull

Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Ravi Assomull undertook his medical training at The University of Cambridge having qualified in 1999. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation Junior Fellowship to fund his MD research degree in The Cardiac MRI unit at The Royal Brompton Hospital.

His work has been presented at International Conferences in both Europe and the USA and continues to be widely cited in the medical literature. He is still involved in research exploring the applications of Cardiac MRI in heart muscle disease.

His specialist Cardiology Training was in the North West London Rotation where he was awarded the prestigious Imperial College Interventional Fellowship for 2 years in succession. He prides himself in providing a tailored approach to every patient he sees, ensuring the use of the latest and most appropriate investigations.

This allows for an accurate diagnosis to be made swiftly, safely and efficiently. He widely uses Cardiac MRI to provide detailed imaging of the heart without any radiation. This effectively guides any subsequent invasive procedures such as angioplasty. The MRI protocols he has devised also allow for thorough investigation of rare causes of hypertension by imaging the kidneys and other organs implicated in causing high blood pressure.

He has recently set up the Cardiac MRI service at Ealing Hospital.
